Built in the weight room.
Harlan Taylor didn’t fall into coaching. He grew up in it — and he built Taylor Made Fitness so the people of Eastern Montana would never have to guess their way through fitness again.

A childhood under a barbell.
My earliest memories involved spending time in the weight room watching my father. As I grew up, I was obsessed with studying different exercise programming, strength training and wrestling. My junior year of high school, my coach signed me up for a powerlifting competition and I took 2nd place in the Super Heavyweight division.
What really impressed me, though, was watching a student set the state record for Bench Press. After that, everything changed. I wanted to be the best of the best. I either wanted to be the strongest guy at the competition, or be the guy that trained the strongest.
Throughout my 20s I always had friends and family asking for fitness advice, and I loved sharing my knowledge — especially when I got to watch them apply it and chase down what they were after. In my late 20s, while giving a coworker some lifting advice in the gym, he asked me one question: “Why aren’t you doing this professionally?”
That question hit me. Starting a business and a career centered around helping others become the best version of themselves? That’s the dream. Helping clients hit their goals, and celebrating those wins together along the way, is the most fulfilling work I could imagine.
So I took the step. I got certified and started Taylor Made Fitness, LLC — where every program is as unique as the people I have the fortune of meeting along the way.
